The 32nd Santa Fe Century bike ride will sport some major changes and beer at the end to give people serious incentive to complete the 100 mile ride. For the dirt bags, this year the Century organization will also offer a 20 mile out and back mountain bike and fat tire ride along with Rail Trail. The ride will happen on May 19 and 20th 2018.

In the past the Santa Fe Century started and ended at the St. Vincent Hospital parking lot. This year the ride will start and end at the Santa Fe Community College where more parking and quieter streets will offer riders much easier logistics.

The Century attracts bicycle riders from all over the West. Known for its great scenery and climb over the Ortiz Mountains, riders can ride competitively (timed) in the Gran Fondo or just for fun as Century riders. Many riders also cut off just before Madrid for a shorter loop on County Rd. 42 to Galesteo. Others have been known to go to Madrid, have a drink at the Mineshaft Tavern and short loop back to Santa Fe.

This year the ride will not go to Stanley because of road construction on Highway 14 after Golden. Rather there will be a turn around back to Madrid and the cut over to Galesteo on County Road 42. This stretch offers great solitude.

Early registration is $40, day of race the cost is $60.

The Cowgirl BBQ will provide the beer garden at the end of the ride. Cowgirl has the most extensive selection of beers on tap in Santa Fe, with beers from all over the region. They will provide BBQ, their specialty. Beer and good food and a life well lived.
